Keep It Simple

Many of us shy away from prayer because we find it intimidating.  We cower at the thought of approaching “the throne;” we’re not sure of what to say or how to say it, if there are certain words we should use, if we should keep it short and to the point or elaborate, if there is a certain praying position we should use, and what we should do afterwards.  Just relax and keep it simple.  The main requirement is sincerity.

As is with most things, “practice makes perfect,” so it is with prayer.  I have an acrostic that outlines how simple prayer can be:

 

 

Lessons in the Valley

Inspired this morning by a quote posted by a friend on Facebook.  “Mountains inspire leaders, but valleys mature them.”  J Philip Everson

Everyone wants to be on top of the mountain, but few want to actually put in the time and energy to climb it.  A lot of complaining, murmuring, and excuse making takes place in the valley, but there are necessary lessons in the valley.  So instead of defeating ourselves with negativity during our ‘valley time’, embrace and learn the lessons.  In doing so, we will be able to stand firmly, without falling, once we reach the mountaintop.

A Love Note From God

We celebrated the international day of love, aka Valentine’s Day on yesterday.  In light of that here’s a little “valentine” from God.

I love you with an everlasting love(Jeremiah 31:3).  My love for you is unconditional; I love you with all of your imperfections(Roman’s 5:8).  When you’re going through, I will be right there to hold your hand and lift you up (Isaiah 41:10).  I will protect you and keep you safe (Psalm 27:1-14).  In fact, I would give up my life for you(John 3:16).  My love is consistent; I will always be faithful (Lamentations 3:22-23).  Nothing will ever come between us (Romans 8:35-39); You can count on me eternally, I will never leave or abandon you (Hebrews 13:5).

Keep It Moving

Monday morning motivation!  No thing or person can stop what God set in place before you were even born.  Situations and sometimes people come as hinderances and delayers, but they can’t stop it.  So don’t you stop.  Keep moving towards your goal.
